Biography

Anahit Sevoyan Anahit Sevoyan is trained in the classical European method. She studied with famous musicians and teachers. She started her studies at a Professional Music School at the age of seven. Mrs. Sevoyan graduated with honors and earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Kara-Murza State Music College and her Master of Music Degrees in Piano Performance, and Master of Education in Piano Pedagogy from Yerevan State Conservatory. Upon graduation, she qualified as a soloist, concertmaster, and piano instructor.

Mrs. Sevoyan has received wide recognition as a musician and teacher. She received the highest honor award, “Certificate of Honor for Excellence in Teaching” from the Department of Education in recognition of her dedication and hard work. Her students have been major prize winners in different competitions at the local, state, and national level. They have also been awarded scholarships, selected to play at the annual Music Teacher’s Association of California (MTAC) Convention and accepted into prestigious Conservatories. She is on the Board of Directors for MTAC, San Fernando East Valley Branch and active member of Music Teacher’s National Association (MTNA) and Southwestern Youth Music Festival (SYMF)

  • She is the author of “Improving Technique,” a publication which won acclaim from the Ministry of Education.
  • She served as a Piano instructor, Chair of the piano department, Co-director at the music school-Armenia.
  • Chief music specialist of the Department of Culture -Armenia.
  • She has taught piano at Yerevan State Conservatory, State Pedagogical Institute, State Music College – Armenia
  • Academy of Music – Russia
  • She has also worked as a music assistant at Los Angeles Valley College and Moscow Music Center in LA, CA

As the Chief specialist, she organized and directed special musical events and recitals. She served as an adjudicator for music competitions and received special acknowledgements for her master-classes and outstanding work in developing a curriculum for students at different stages of their piano studies. As a master teacher and lecturer, she worked to develop young musicians and their teachers.

Mrs. Sevoyan’s work has been highly acknowledged by her peers–other piano teachers and other professional musicians–as well as by her students. In May, 2009, in August 2010 and in June-July 2013, 2014, 2015 she was invited as a guest lecturer at the World Piano Pedagogy Conference in Europe.

The results of her outstanding background as a student, teacher, and performer are clearly seen in Mrs. Sevoyan’s teaching skill.

As a teacher, Anahit Sevoyan is patient, creative, innovative and confident. She is deeply committed to a high standard and excellent quality of musical education.
